It’s an odd modern phenomenon, this relentless documenting and photographing of what we eat on social media. I often wonder which are the meals these instagrammers leave out? Does Deliciously Ella secretly nosh on bacon sarnies between the endless rounds of avocado on toast? Does the Hungry Boyfriend ever just eat a microwave meal? Surely real people aren’t 24/7 foodies?
Anyhow, as I’m ever on a self-improvement mission with regards to my health and eating, I’ve found that ‘tweeting what I eat’ does mean I take extra care with my meals – picking healthier options, presenting things nicely, and taking time over eating them. I’m never going to endlessly catalogue my eating habits (that’s what My Fitness Pal is for) so I just join in with ‘What I Ate Wednesday’ and thought it would be nice to do a monthly roundup of my gluten free meal inspiration. I hope you enjoy it!
This month has been about rediscovering winter warmers now the mild weather has come to an end:

Homemade Chicken, Carrot and Coriander Soup, with a blob of cashew cream. I usually riff on Delia’s recipe. Using coriander seed makes this deliciously sweet.

Slow cooked lamb with plums, cinnamon and a hint of chilli. We don’t have a slow cooker, and I’ve been proving to myself you don’t need one if you have an oven and a Le Creuset!

Pork with Fennel and Olives is one of the many fabulous and easy recipe from Hugh F-W’s new book I’ve made. These pork kidney chops from the farm shop were amazing!

Red Lentil Penne and Black Bean Fusilli baked with salmon, creme fraiche, leeks, red peppers and walnuts. I bought this grain free pasta from Freego. You can get £10 off using this link.

Turkish Tahini & Lemon Greens was a recipe that came in my veg box. I paired it with coddled eggs.
